Parliament Reconvenes at Grand Arena Today

The Parliament of Ghana will reconvene today, December 16, 2024, at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre. This was announced by Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin in a notice dated December 11, 2024.

According to the notice, the Grand Arena has been appointed as the place of meeting for the seventh session of the fourth meeting of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

This development comes after the 2024 general elections, during which new Members of Parliament for both the Majority and Minority sides were elected. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) suffered its heaviest defeat in last week’s parliamentary elections since 1992.

The reconvening of Parliament was initially announced in a notice issued on December 2, signed by Speaker Bagbin. The notice stated that the seventh meeting of the fourth session of the eighth parliament of the Fourth Republic would commence today at 10:00 AM.
