The vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has conceded defeat in the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
In a statement dated December 11,2024, Dr. Prempeh said the NPP respects the verdict of the Ghanaian people and accepts the outcome with humility.
“We respect the verdict of the Ghanaian people,” Dr. Prempeh stated. “To Ghanaians, we have heard you clearly and with humility we accept. We will work with you to get it right.”
He expressed gratitude to the Lord Almighty and acknowledged the outcome of the elections, which saw a victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He also thanked the party faithful, his team, family, friends, and others for their support and hopes the NPP emerges stronger in 2028 to regain the trust of Ghanaians.
