Nana Kwame Bediako, an independent candidate and the presidential candidate for The New Force movement, garnered 84,478 votes in the 2024 Ghanaian presidential election, representing 0.5% of the total votes cast, out of the 276 constituency recorded. Bediako, a renowned real estate developer, announced his candidacy on January 7, 2024, after weeks of speculation.
Bediako’s campaign was notable, given his background as a successful entrepreneur. However, the election results showed that he faced significant competition from other candidates, including the vice president of the republic, H E Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party and the now President Elect, for the 2025-2028 political year, His Excellency John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress, who caused a historical national political tsunami at 6,328,397 votes being 56.55%.
The 2024 Ghanaian presidential election saw a total of 24 candidates vying for the top spot, with 12 making it to the final list after the Electoral Commission’s vetting process.
