The outgoing Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, George Mireku Duker, has expressed gratitude to his supporters and the general public for their overwhelming show of love and appreciation.

In an exclusive interview on Mining City Radio today, he said he was humbled by the numerous visits and well-wishes he had received from people.
“It’s eight years after elections. Although I lost, it’s as if I won with people in tears and others extending their well wishes. This overwhelming response has proven that I have served my people well,” he said.
He stated that, former President Kuffuor called him and said he should not be sad in any way and that he had served with distinction. He concluded saying, ” this has motivated me.”
He also used the opportunity to urge the incoming NDC government to prioritize completing all abandoned projects, including road projects that have been contracted out in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency.
“I hope the new government will work on completing all abandoned projects,” he said.
He also called on the government to ensure they deliver on their campaign promises, such as ensuring a 24-hour economy, stopping galamsey, and stabilizing the exchange rate.
“We are looking forward to the NDC government ending galamsey and implementing a 24-hour economy. We also expect them to reduce the prices of essential commodities, such as cement, light, petrol, and even kenkey, to their original prices when the NPP assumed power in 2017. Most importantly, We hope to see a significant reduction in the exchange rate, with the cedi returning to its previous value of 4 cedis to the dollar.”
