Mavis Kuukua Bissue-Boateng has become the first female Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ahanta West constituency under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She garnered 28,227 votes, representing 58.9% of the 47,890 valid votes cast. Her closest rival, Ing. Francis Pobee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), secured 19,663 votes, amounting to 41.1%.
In her victory message, she expressed her profound gratitude to the people of Ahanta West for entrusting her with the noble responsibility of representing them in parliament.
“I am profoundly honored and humbled by the trust and confidence the people of Ahanta West have placed in me by electing me as your Member of Parliament,” she said.
She therefore pledged to deliver on every campaign promise and remain dedicated to addressing the needs of all constituents.
“Together, we will work to create opportunities, uplift livelihoods, and ensure sustainable development for Ahanta West,” she stated
