De Thompson DDT, the singer and songwriter behind the viral hit song “Honorable Waawe,” has clarified that his song wasn’t intended to troll the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) following Ghana’s December 7, 2024 polls.

In an interview with Amansan Krakye, De Thompson DDT explained that the song’s message has been lost in the political frenzy.
According to him, “Honorable Waawe” is about holding leaders accountable for their performance.
He emphasized that those who lost the election didn’t perform their duties properly, and the song serves as a reminder to do better next time.
He noted that he didn’t compose the song for any particular political party. He believes that the song’s message will remain relevant every four years, regardless of which party is in power.
Interestingly, “Honorable Waawe” has become a sensation on social media platforms, with many using it to mock those who lost the election.
However, De Thompson DDT remains adamant that his song wasn’t intended to be used as a tool for trolling or mockery.
