The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has categorically rejected the re-collated parliamentary election results declared by the Electoral Commission (EC), describing them as “illegal” and “manipulated.”
According to a press release signed by General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey today, December 21, 2024, the results “represent a blatant assault on Ghana’s democratic principles and a betrayal of the sovereign will of the Ghanaian people.”
The NDC alleges that the EC, under the leadership of Jean Mensah, has “consistently chosen a path of illegality and impunity,” compromising its mandate and deepening public mistrust.

This development comes after the EC announced its decision not to uphold parliamentary election results in nine constituencies due to disruptions caused by supporters of some political parties.
The party has condemned these “undemocratic practices” and warned that “electoral crimes have no expiry date.”
The NDC has further expressed disappointment with the National Peace Council and other moral bodies for their silence on the matter.
The NDC has called on the international community to take note of the EC’s actions, which it says pose a significant threat to Ghana’s peace, stability, and democratic progress.
“We will not relent in our fight to defend the will of the people and ensure justice prevails,” the statement concluded.
